BEAUTY // TIGHTLASE TREATMENT..

Bodies are a funny thing. We all have them and we all have to live with them. I have the biggest admiration for people who actually have the courage to change something if they are not happy with the reflection in the mirror. Although I don’t always understand or agree with the results that they end up with, I truly respect where they are coming from.

My biggest issue with my body has always been my knees. It ́s something that I think about everyday – and they just don’t fit with the rest of my body. My whole knee area is just bigger. I even had liposuction on the sides of my knees to try to even it out.

I work out 4 times a week, but try to work with my body in different ways, so I get around all areas. I have 1 hour of personal training, 1 hour yoga, 1 hour pilates, 1 hour bellydance. I didn’t think that bellydance would be something for me. But when I left the studio I was smiling from ear to ear – so it had definitely done something right..

I try to eat healthy and always variate my diet. I eat all my veggies and fruit. I juice as much I can. I always have healthy options in my bag to eat, if I ́m on the run, so I don’t jump into the “easy bad solutions”

But all the exercise and all the healthy living just don’t change my knees. Therefore I was so happy to find out, when Dr. Terence Tan from Halley Medical Aesthetics told me, that we could tighten the skin around the knee area with Tightlase laser. Four to five sessions are needed for the laser to reach maximum result.

He told me all the steps that we were going through and told me that because the laser uses heat energy, it could at some pointfeel warm in the areas that he was treating. And I must say it did. However Dr. Tan used a heat monitor which is linked to an iPad to keep track of the temperature of my skin tissue so as to ensure tightening without buring the skin. This is very reassuring, not to mention that he kept talking to me throughout the procedure to take my mind off the treatment. Before starting the treatment,Dr. Tan drew the areas that need to be treatedthe areas just above and below my knees—and numbed those areas with a numbing cream.

So, what is Tightlase laser?

Tightlase laser can be conducted on areas where tighter, smoother skin is desired. This includes the abdomen, thighs, arms, and face as well. Tightlase laser delivers clinically-proven results without having to undergo liposuction or surgery. Tightlase is dual-wavelength laser technology for skin tightening, non-surgical body contouring with a modest degree of fat removal.

The first mode sends deep dermal heating to the deeper layer of my skin. The laser safely warms and shrinks fatty tissues to smooth out the appearance of cellulite. The heating process also causes underlying collagen fibers to coagulate, tightening the skin.

The second wavelength then targets the superficial layer of the skin to causes skin tightening. By combining both of these modes, the Tightlase laser procedure is able to achieve skin tightening results previously only achieved with surgery.

What about pain or downtime?

There is no downtime for Tightlase laser. The treated area may feel like a sunburn and some redness can appear. This will usually go away the following day.

Watch my video for the treatment in action below:

I didn’t feel anything the next day although I felt a slight sensation when I left the clinic. It was gone the next day though. I have seen many times on The Kardashians that they have gotten the treatment, and in my opinion they look pretty good.  And I don’t see any cellulite on their thighs or knees!

I will still continue to do my workout routines and healthy living, it ́s such a big part of me. But I will always keep being curious to experience and try new treatments that can help improve the way that I look and feel.

My knees are looking real fine now!

My next project is having another Zeltiq CoolSculpting treatments on my thighs – but that one takes about 2 month for the end result to show. So I can ́t wait 🙂

Først og fremmest, elsker din blog! Elsker du er så ligefrem 🙂 Er selv ret nysgerrig når det kommer til skønhedsbehandlinger og synes det lyder utrolig interessant. Ved du om man kan få disse behandlinger i DK?
